Radiographic Testing Film Interpretation (RTFI) is a specialized service in non-destructive testing (NDT) that involves the accurate evaluation of radiographic images (X-ray or Gamma-ray) to detect and assess internal discontinuities in welds, castings, and critical components. Skilled interpretation ensures reliable defect identification and compliance with international codes and standards.

Applications of RTFI:

• Detection of porosity, slag inclusions, cracks, lack of fusion, and incomplete penetration

Process: Radiographs are examined using standard viewing equipment under controlled lighting. Defects are interpreted based on size, shape, and location, and acceptance is determined as per applicable codes and standards.
